This PRE-GED program is designed for students with a low academic level of less than a 6th grade of elementary education, the program gives you a solid foundation in this course you will learn the basic skills you need to succeed on each of the four subjects of the test: micro-lessons on test-taking strategies, review questions involving critical thinking, and practice questions in each subject.
Once the student passes all the subjects satisfactorily, they can continue to the second level of the GED to take the more advanced subjects to take the final GED exam and thus be able to pass and obtain their High School Equivalency Diploma. This program covers the latest GED exam format and national standards.
The GED Tests cover the same subjects that people study in high school. Candidates are not required to know all of the information that is usually taught in high school; however, across the five tests, candidates are tested on their ability to read and process information, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
We understand that some students may require additional academic support in some of the academic areas. Teachers will recommend students for assessment based on your academic progress.
Today, a high school diploma remains the primary ticket to many entry-level jobs. In many cases, it is also the prerequisite for advancement in employment, Occupational training and post secondary education.
The GED is offered in English or Spanish.
There are five subjects in the HSE Programs which include:
Language Arts (Reading and Writing): This includes reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and essay writing skills.
Mathematics: Basic math concepts such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis are covered. Problem-solving skills are also emphasized.
Science: Topics in earth science, life science, physical science, and scientific reasoning are addressed.
Social Studies: This includes history, geography, civics, economics, and basic understanding of government structures.
We are committed to support any students who need additional academic support in order for them to complete the program. For example, any students who do not pass a particular subject on the test will be allowed to receive additional support within our school. Students will be allowed to re-take the HSE Test until they pass the GED High School Equivalency Test.
