Basic Plumbing

The Basic Plumbing course provides students with the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills needed to install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Students will learn how water supply, drainage, and waste systems operate, as well as how to identify and use the proper tools, fittings, and materials required for professional plumbing work. Emphasis is placed on understanding building codes, workplace safety, and environmental conservation practices related to plumbing systems.

Through a combination of classroom instruction and practical exercises, students will develop the ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot leaks, perform pipe installation, and repair fixtures in compliance with local and national plumbing standards. This course is designed for individuals pursuing a career in building maintenance or facility management and serves as a key component of the Building Maintenance Technician program.
