1 Hour Asbestos/Lead Awareness - Online

The 1-Hour Asbestos/Lead Awareness course is designed to educate construction and trade workers about the hazards of asbestos and lead exposure in the workplace. Asbestos and lead-based materials can be found in many older buildings, and improper handling can result in serious health risks. This course provides an overview of identification, risks, and safe work practices to minimize exposure.

Participants will learn how to recognize potential asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and lead-based paint hazards, understand the health effects of exposure, and follow proper safety procedures when these materials are suspected or identified. The training emphasizes compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101 (Asbestos), OSHA 29 CFR 1926.62 (Lead), and NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Training (SST) requirements.
