Home Health Aide Training Program in American Sign Language (ASL) – 120 Hours

The Home Health Aide – American Sign Language (HHA-ASL) program is specially designed for students who communicate using American Sign Language. It provides the same comprehensive Home Health Aide training as the standard HHA program, with instruction adapted to support Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing learners. The course emphasizes effective communication, patient safety, and the delivery of compassionate care within home and community settings.

Through classroom and hands-on practice, students gain the knowledge and skills to assist clients with personal care, health monitoring, and activities of daily living. Instructors fluent in ASL guide participants through essential topics such as infection control, nutrition, emergency response, and patient rights. Graduates are eligible for placement in the New York State Home Care Registry and prepared for employment as certified Home Health Aides serving diverse communities.
