International Development Institute is committed to maintaining a professional, respectful, and safe learning environment for all students, instructors, staff, and visitors. All students are required to comply with this Code of Conduct for the safety and protection of the entire student body and school personnel.
General Conduct
Students must behave in a respectful and professional manner at all times while on school premises, participating in school activities, or representing the school. Loud, disorderly, disruptive, aggressive, or unacceptable behavior is strictly prohibited.
Alcohol and Drugs
The use, possession, or distribution of alcoholic beverages or controlled substances, including narcotics (unless prescribed by a physician with proper documentation), is strictly prohibited. Students must not attend class or be present on school premises under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
Behavior and Professionalism
Students shall not use profane or obscene language, engage in inappropriate conduct, or display insubordination toward any instructor, staff member, or administrator. Students are responsible for reporting any conduct that may cause harm, injury, or disruption to the school environment.
Academic Integrity
Students are expected to maintain honesty and integrity in all academic work. Cheating, plagiarism, falsification of records, or any form of academic dishonesty is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal.
Dress Code
Students are expected to maintain a clean, neat, and well-groomed appearance appropriate for a professional learning environment. The following are not permitted: sandals, cut-offs, sleeveless shirts, inappropriate clothing, and other attire deemed unsuitable by the school. Exceptions for religious or medical reasons must be approved in writing by the school director.
Electronic Devices
The use of electronic devices in the classroom is prohibited unless authorized by the instructor. This includes, but is not limited to, cellular phones, tablets, recording devices, cameras, and similar equipment.
Compliance with Law
Students must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Violations of law, including but not limited to possession of illegal substances or weapons, are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disciplinary action.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is prohibited in all school buildings and facilities, including hallways, classrooms, restrooms, elevators, and common areas. Smoking is also prohibited within thirty (30) feet of any building entrance.
Weapons Policy
Weapons of any kind, whether legal or illegal, are not permitted on school premises. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, firearms, knives, box cutters, sharp objects, flammable materials, and any item deemed dangerous by the school director.
Safety and Student Welfare
The school reserves the right to take appropriate action with respect to any student who appears to be suffering from an illness or condition that may affect the safety or welfare of the student, other students, or staff.
Use of School Property
Students are responsible for the proper use of school equipment and facilities. Damage to school property, whether intentional or due to negligence, may result in disciplinary action and financial responsibility.
Attendance and Punctuality
Students must comply with the school’s attendance policy, including punctuality requirements. Failure to attend classes regularly or arriving late may result in disciplinary action and may affect academic progress.
Disciplinary Actions
Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including warning, probation, suspension, or dismissal from the program. The severity of the action will depend on the nature and frequency of the violation.
Immediate Termination
Serious violations, including but not limited to violence, possession of weapons, or illegal substances, may result in immediate termination from the program.
Reporting Violations
Students are encouraged to report violations of this policy to school administration. All reports will be reviewed and addressed appropriately.
Records
Disciplinary actions and conduct-related matters may be documented and maintained as part of the student’s permanent record.
