International Development Institute is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of student education records in accordance with applicable laws and institutional policies. This policy outlines the rights of students with respect to their educational records and the conditions under which such information may be disclosed.
Student Records
The school maintains educational records for each student, which may include, but are not limited to, enrollment information, attendance records, academic performance, grades, transcripts, financial records, and disciplinary records.
Right to Access Records
Students have the right to review their educational records maintained by the school. Requests to access records must be submitted in writing to the school administration. Access will be provided within a reasonable period of time in accordance with school procedures.
Right to Request Amendment
Students have the right to request correction of records they believe to be inaccurate or misleading. Requests must be submitted in writing and must clearly identify the portion of the record to be amended and the reason for the request. The school will review the request and notify the student of the decision.
Disclosure of Information
The school will not disclose personally identifiable information from a student’s educational records without the student’s written consent, except as permitted or required by law.
Disclosure without consent may occur under the following circumstances:
- To school officials with a legitimate educational interest
- To regulatory agencies or government authorities as required
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or subpoenas
- In connection with health or safety emergencies
- To authorized representatives for audit or evaluation purposes
Directory Information
The school may designate certain information as directory information, which may be disclosed without prior consent unless the student opts out. Directory information may include the student’s name, program of study, dates of attendance, and credential awarded.
Students have the right to request in writing that directory information not be disclosed.
Confidentiality
The school maintains appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect student records from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
Record Retention
Student records are maintained in accordance with applicable laws and school policies. Certain records may be retained permanently, while others may be retained for a specified period of time.
Release of Records
Official transcripts and records will only be released upon written request by the student and after all financial obligations to the school have been satisfied, unless otherwise required by law.
Complaints
Students who believe their privacy rights have been violated may file a complaint with the school administration. The school will review and respond to complaints in accordance with its policies and procedures.
