International Development Institute requires all students to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in order to successfully complete their program of study. Satisfactory Academic Progress is measured by evaluating attendance, academic performance, and completion of required coursework throughout the duration of the program.
Evaluation of Progress
Student progress is evaluated at regular intervals based on the length and requirements of the program. Evaluations include review of attendance, academic performance, and successful completion of required coursework. Students must meet all SAP standards to remain in good standing.
Attendance Requirement
Students must maintain a minimum attendance rate of eighty-five percent (85%) unless a higher attendance standard is required by the specific program, licensing authority, or applicable regulatory agency.
Certain programs require one hundred percent (100%) attendance for successful completion, including but not limited to the following:
- Air Pollution Control
- Basic Electricity
- Basic Plumbing
- Boiler Operator
- Building Maintenance Code
- Building Maintenance Technician
- Building Operation Maintenance and Record Keeping
- Notary Public
- Fire Safety Director
- Real Estate Salesperson
- Real Estate Broker
- 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course for Security Guard
- 16-Hour On the Job Training Course for Security Guard
- 8-Hour In-Service Training Course for Security Guard
- 47-Hour Armed Security Guard Training Course
- 8-Hour Annual Firearms Training Course for Security Guard
Students enrolled in programs requiring one hundred percent (100%) attendance must meet that requirement in order to successfully complete the program.
Academic Performance Requirement
Students must achieve a minimum passing grade of seventy percent (70%), or the equivalent standard established by the school’s grading system, unless otherwise specified by program requirements. Academic performance is evaluated through examinations, assignments, practical assessments, and other required coursework.
Course Completion Requirement
Students must complete at least ninety-five percent (95%) of the required coursework in order to successfully complete a program, unless otherwise specified by program or regulatory requirements.
Maximum Time Frame
Students are expected to complete their program within the scheduled time frame. The maximum allowable time to complete a program may not exceed one hundred fifty percent (150%) of the program’s scheduled duration, unless otherwise required by applicable regulations.
Warning Status
Students who fail to meet SAP standards may be placed on academic warning. During this period, the student is expected to improve attendance, academic performance, and overall progress to meet the required standards.
Probation Status
If a student does not meet SAP requirements after a warning period, the student may be placed on probation. Students on probation must demonstrate measurable improvement within a specified period or may be subject to further academic action.
Dismissal
Students who fail to maintain satisfactory academic progress, including required attendance and academic performance standards, may be dismissed from the program. Students enrolled in programs requiring one hundred percent (100%) attendance who fail to meet that requirement may be unable to complete the program.
Incomplete Courses
Incomplete coursework must be completed within a timeframe determined by the school. Failure to complete required coursework may negatively affect the student’s SAP status.
Reinstatement
A student who has been dismissed may request reinstatement by submitting a written appeal to the school administration. Reinstatement is granted at the discretion of the school and may be subject to specific conditions.
Records
All SAP evaluations are documented and maintained as part of the student’s permanent academic record and may be reviewed by regulatory agencies as required.
