The Fire Life and Safety Director course provides comprehensive training for individuals seeking to become certified to oversee fire safety, life safety, and emergency preparedness operations in high-rise and commercial buildings throughout New York City. This program is developed in accordance with FDNY regulations and the New York City Fire Code to prepare candidates for the Fire Life and Safety Director Certificate of Fitness examination.
Students will learn about fire alarm systems, evacuation planning, fire prevention, and life safety systems management. The course also includes emergency preparedness topics such as active shooter response, non-fire emergencies, and communication with first responders. Upon successful completion, participants will possess the knowledge and confidence required to maintain a safe environment, manage fire protection systems, and effectively lead building occupants during emergencies.

Admission Requirements:
1. Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
2. Present a valid government-issued photo identification.
3. Submit a High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (GED). Applicants who do not possess a High School Diploma or GED must successfully pass the school’s Entrance Examination.
Note: The Graduation Diploma is valid for 9 MONTHS in order to take the FDNY Fire component computer-based exam.
